TOMATO CHUTNEY

Today before making dinner realised there was nothing good to go along with the planned dosa. With just few minutes let I just thought of making the yummy tomato chutney.

Ingredients
Tomato            4 nos.
Onion               4 nos.
Dry red chili    10 nos.
Mustard            1 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil for seasoning

Preparation:

First wash the tomatoes and cut them into big chunks.
Peal and cut onions into medium size pieces


In a mixer blend all the onion to a coarse paste
Then add the red chilies

Add tomato pieces in and blend to a nice paste



In a pan add 2 table spoon of oil


Once oil is heated add the mustard seeds and let them splutter

Then add the ground mixture into the pan
Add the salt and mix well


Close the pan and allow it to simmer for 5 - 10 mins. till the raw flavor is removed


Once done off the stove and transfer the content to a serving bowl


This chutney goes well with dosa, idly, chapati and roti.

Introduction - First Post

I grew up in a very small loving family where we celebrated life and enjoyed all the festivals. My mum was a home maker and she made sure we had our birthdays, Christmas, New Year and Easter celebrated. This made us grow up looking forward to one after the other. In those days when there baking was not common at home she still used the available resources to cook delicacies which we loved. Home food is something we were brought up with. Going out to restaurants was something very rare. These things have left an impression in our hearts.

So now married and having kids of my own I have found a new interest to cook and bake. My kids and husband are amazing who encourage me as they love to eat the food I cook. Having deep found interest in exploring new things which are possible at home I have decided to start this blog to share my experience, tips, recipes and ideas in cooking food at home which are nutritious, delicious and fun to make.


There are a lot of easy cooking which can involve kids and develop interest in them to cook.Also this helps them to create a good idea of home food and not always long and run to fast food or restaurant food.

In the coming year am looking forward to share my recipes and ideas in this blog. Happy New Year 2016 everyone.
